    Snug -India

    OC,
I never looked into any of the China, India, or even Japan plays. However, if you believe that US is eventually heading for recession, then any of the country stocks that are primarily exporters to the US will be hurt. After strong economic indicators yesterday, that may be some time coming though.
Bottom line for me is that I just don't know, and haven't researched enough to have a good opinion one way or other. Good Luck, Snug

    • Matthews Funds are all no-load, Plute, I think, said they have a load of 5%, they do not. Expenses are 2% for the India Fund, MINDX. Most overseas funds are pricey.

My investing strategy has gradually shifted to sectors and globally. I think the action is going to be in the far east and I think O&G co.'s in N. America are where to be.

So, I own a lot of ECA (oil sands too) and will reinvest in China and India. I'm waiting for an Indian ETF.

I would suggest a bit of GOOG, Kansas City Southern RR (KSU), YHOO, and maybe NYX, I've been in and out there, cost me a little.

Dicking around with losers, dogs and things you don't understand can be painful.
