    The numbers....

The numbers EPS and revenue are better than the analyst expected. Pre market bid/ask at 57+. Interesting day ahead.

    • Honestly - you can't just ignore that $1.5 billion legal reserve. The company talks about how that was disclosed, but it certainly wasn't emphasized anywhere. It appeared in one filing - the Q2 10-Q - and I don't think anyone thought we'd be talking about this kind of magnitude.

Other than that it was a good quarter - and the split seemes to be well received by the market. But that reserve really irks me as that will be real cash going out the door (and not in our pocket). To just dismiss it as non-operating isn't right.

    • Where are all the tools saying to sell. Anyone that has followed this company knew it was well undervalued. The numbers today were incredible and the split will finally get the value that is deserved to the shareholders.

      • The numbers alone weren't responsible for the move up today. The major cause of the move up today was the split up of the company. A couple of analysts predicted or recommended the split, but it wouldn't have been an "event" without the split. Without the split we'd still be muddying around in the 49 - 53 arena and the sell on any rally would prevail. You can say that the company is valued at 60, but the market didn't think so prior to the announcement. 20:20 hind site is always perfect. It will be interesting to see where the two companies take us. I think the outcomes could be distinctly different. Wonder how retiree benefits will be affected. Major concern for retirees.
