If you look at the stock history or the background of ABT, no doubt it is a stable and solid company. It has less risk than any other drug companies because of its PE ratio. Also, with the split coming end of May, it certainly will boost up. Now is the best time to buy when the market is down. It probably will surge up when it splits and by that time, market probably enter into another wave to go up again.
Why is this company not using its cash to make good acquisitions instead of artificially inflating its EPS? A company buys back shares if the shares are cheap. ABT is not cheap yet. I would be a buyer at $60-64. The only engine of growth (beside TAP) was/is BIAXIN ...getting creamed by ZITHROMAX from Pfizer(market share down 10% from last year). Keep your shares and vote for a real outsider to run this GREAT company and clean this complacent board.
