    Still a good buy.

Most stocks are overpriced. Why??? The tax law changes favoring gains over div. This in it's self has changed how one should
value PE's. If you change the capitial gains tax back where it was and the prices will drop back to the old PE levels. Also the
stock buy back programs are also having their effect on the way PE's are viewed. I my self perfer Div. I live off Div and
interest. No job and the market is my income. On the other hand all the gains sure make my net worth look GOOD. So I am not
complaining. If I had more money(I am 100% invested plus 1 house)
I would buy more ABT becase I beieve that the post split price will be 40-45 $$ range. PROFIT!!. that's why. I do wonder about management. I always want more info on them. If you have some past it on. Good, bad or indifferent. Its all infomation.

May your div grow and your gains be large.

    • The floor is probably at $65 ($32 1/2 post split). The stock is down 1.66% (J&J 0.54%). Some VPs are going to have to stick a little longer to cash on their options.

I had a friend who worked at Lilly and Abbott: the difference is Lilly is conservative and Abbott is political....

      Any comments?

    • I bought 50 shares of ABT and it has dropped everyday since I bought it.

      • If you want to make quick money, you should pick some internet stocks and make a big bet day to day. If you buy ABT, you
should hold it for long term. A month ago, LLY got beaten to $59 and many brokers downgraded it. Look at LLY now, it surges up a
lot already. This would happen the same to ABT also, probably when it is approaching split time. Just remember, all drug and
pharm stocks have a long history, they are older than you and me and they keep growing all the times. Every stock has its up and
down and ABT is really a very low risk company. Don't panic.

      • Buying Abt is no mistake provided you intend to hold it as a long-term investment. The company has steady increases in
earnings and dividends every year. It's in many excellent businesses and has been very aggressive in making acquisitions and forming
contractual alliances with other companies. If you hold ABT for the long term you will be well rewarded. Currently, the stock has had a
big run-up due to its announced split and dividend increase and some profit-taking has set in. Keep the faith. ABT is an
        excellent investment.
