    On CRGN

There was a discussion a few days ago on whether
Curagen will be bought by Abbott. I did a little research
on Curagen, this may be the next hot biotech
company. I called a couple of friends in New Heaven area
and found out a few things about Curagen. It is a
hydrid of automation, software, mechnical engineering
and biotechnology. Its high throughput screening
technology is one of the best or more accuratly the most
unique in the industry. It has 50% of its business in
genetic seed area (like Delkalb and Abgribio), and
another 50% in genomics and informatics. All these are
hot areas. Curagen has been around for only couple of
years but has already gained trust from a number of
firms--currently has collaborations with the world's largest
genetic seed firm--Pioneer Hi-Bred. It will be
interesting to see if Curagen can land a couple of more deals
in this quarter, if it can do that, we will see a
major movement on the share prices. Note that Biogen
paid $11.50 for the shares. I guess right now would be
a safe entry. I do not have any idea if Abbott is
in talk with Curagen or not. I will try to call my
contacts to find out in the next few days. But I kina like
    Curagen.
