Any daytrading suggestions? Anyone, friend or foe.

    You are a tax advisor?

I am a very conservative investor. Most of my holdings are dividend producers in my ROTH account. I have several buys, but no sells in that account for over a year.

I keep some play money in a trading account, and have not gone into the red since 2008, when I lost around 21K for the year.

My big investment is single family rental homes. I have purchased eight repo's in the past few years, and am always looking for more.

    • if you were conservative you would understand the irrationality of trying to make a go day trading while being severely under financed, you really ought to have 50k or better, on the other hand it is well worth your time to use that 3k as a learning account, trade it and you will learn much faster than that paper trading bs. BTW the sooner you get away from the industry's idea of training you to follow "technical analysis" and "charts" the better. All that stuff is too get you to over trade and get traded against by market makers and gamed by institutions and their collusion with big media.

    • Surely this can't be the Project that we've all come to know and love (sarcasm).

In regards to dividend producers...I say you load up on some ARR if you're into the whole real estate investment type plays.

    • I hesitate to dialogue with you but a storm is coming here so I'll try. First of all YOU are the primary reason Joel does not post here. You both hurt him and scared him with your personal attacks and talk about his personal information. A good start to reclaim yourself here would be to apologize to him.

What people don't realize is that you can have a conservative account and be a speculator with money you can afford to lose. I am that type but I am too exposed to aapl to be really conservative even though I have a mental stop at $500.

I never get involved in rentals because i see the nightmares in my clients when bad tenants can make your life miserable. The only people that have had success in my practice get their money straight from HUD.

When I finally sell my apple I plan to go to dividend stocks. What ones do you suggest. I like abbot, JNJ, AT&T and Verizon. My dividend mutual fund has done well. My problem is I love speculating but i have to control how much money I do it with because the last three years have been a disaster.
