Dongguan Amperex Opens After Chinese New Year
    2013-02-28

On February 18, 2013, the staff and management of ABAT's Dongguan Amperex held a grand kick-off New Year opening ceremony to mark the return to work after the Chinese holidays. The staff, new and old, lined up for the raising of the flags while the national anthem was played. Group CEO, Mr. Quiang #$%$ gave the New Year's "Welcome Back Speech for 2013."

Dear colleagues, ladies and gentlemen, Good morning! Here, first of all, I, on behalf of the group of companies of ABAT 2013 welcome you back from the holiday. I wish all of us a good smooth start for the New Year and good fortune as we ride on the momentum of the past and create a brilliant tomorrow. Reviewing the recent past, we can see that from the inception until now, ABAT's Dongguan has experienced rapid development in production and sales and we look forward to more breakthroughs as the history unfolds. The workload of the new year will be upon us quickly and we will move forward quickly and efficiently to meet the industry needs. 2013 will present new challenges and new opportunities, but together all our staff will make the joint effort to meet the demands of the times, overcome any challenges as a team and succeed in our endeavours . We will rise powerfully like the courageous spirit of the wolf, be pragmatic, work hard, be innovative and achieve success. I have faith that my colleagues and the staff will be able to rise to the expectations of the times and the company will achieve sucesss. As long as we make utmost efforts and cooperate, I believe Dongguan will show its strength again in 2013 and be able to achieve the goal of safe production and meet our targets for the year. Finally, I wish good health to all the colleagues, pleasant work days, smooth operations. Success in our enterprises will happen steadily.

    • I’m curious about ABAT’s inclusion of “Amperex” in the name for their Dongguan facility.

If you do a search for “Dongguan Amperex” I think you’ll find that the search engine will pull up data related to a Hong Kong company, Amperex Technology Limited (ATL), which is an operating subsidiary of TDK (Japan). They also manufacture Li batteries of all types, and have three factories in Mainland China-two in Dongguan and one in Ningde (Fujian province).

I’m fairly confident that ABAT doesn’t have any connection to TDK; if they did, surely we’d have heard about it. Is “Amperex” simply an English rendering of a generic Chinese term, or is ABAT actually using ATL’s name as part of their own trade name?

The challenge is meeting the rapidly increasing demand. Could be from new orders for polymer lithium batteries for phones, tablets, and phablets. Should be a phantastic 2013. I can't wait to see the audit for 2012, and other information coming, and resolution of legal action.
