40Megs?? What did you do with all that power? I bet you had 5 inch floppy disk as a backup storage. Windows XP was/is a good OS. Very intuitive. I got mad the other day and broke my Toshiba netbook that ran XP. I have regretted it ever since. I did not back up anything on it..... I replaced it with a google chromebook and an ASUS laptop with windows 8. Kids love the chromebook and say it is as easy as a Mac to work. 5 year old got on it and was surfing right away. I was gonna throw it in the trash but kids wanted it. LOL
Agree 100%, but get the start button as Wildbullus said and then make the adjustments to boot directly to the desktop. Windows 8 is lite, fast, and comes with security built in, so appreciate this. The remainder of the operating system is Microsoft's attempt to trap you into their world of managing your pictures, media...your life...just like Apple, Google, Facebook, and others. The name of the game is plug into your brain by tracking every move and then direct market manipulate until you give your credit card number.
