    OT: education and surveys

this is from an article I was reading on how a survey determines how to rank a college that graduates ed majors: "(to) earn a Strong Design designation on this standard because they are both selective and diverse." --- so let us not look at the outcome or the sucess of the students they teach, but whether the college they went to is "diverse" enough to earn a high ranking. When did qualitative beat quantitive out as a metric?

ps I was thinking about Karcz's post --- all the guys I know are paying to a kid or two to get a higher education, they are broke as church mice.

    • Slugger: its sort of hard for the intelligenceia to view the real world when their heads remain in a sunless area for the best part of the day.

    • Slug-welcome to the present--and maybe the future. I don't follow the educational system much--but it seems-as a society (I.e. television commercials)-"diversity" is a crucial modern element....Some folks maybe don't see it--but you almost have to be blind, not to.........
