For all of you wondering what is going on tonight. Rockets and booms are lighting up the night; awesome fireworks displays all around. It's been going on well over an hour and still keeping the neighborhood dogs barking. The police are trying to clear up sections of the city from the intoxicated fans getting a little too crazy and will suffer their hangovers in the morning. But, the Hawks executed a brilliant season and everyone is celebrating this. It will be a wild parade when the Hawks get back to the City. Btw, I thought the Boston Star Spangled banner entertainer was a bit boring......nothing like our Chicago talent.
Hockey is a tough game. As impressed as we were by the strength, talent, and competitive spirit of the Boston Bruins on the ice, we were deeply touched by what happened off the ice. Rarely have we experienced the hospitality you afforded us throughout the playoff series between two incredibly gifted teams.
On behalf of the Chicago Blackhawks organization and the entire Wirtz Corporation, we want to personally express our heartfelt appreciation to your city, the Bruins organization, and especially, the citizens of Boston for the remarkable welcome you showed our team and the many Chicagoans who visited.
From Boston’s political leadership to every member of the Bruins organization, from the players to the people on the street, you demonstrated respect, good sportsmanship, and a genuine love for the great game of hockey.
Like the rest of the world, Chicagoans have been reminded in recent days of Boston’s strength. Please know we tip our hat to your city’s big heart and gracious spirit. You lead by example and have set the bar very high for others to follow.
Non stop celebration all night and morning long. The big Indians brought the cup back to Chicago early this morning, stopped at Harry Carey's, made several more stops and are now in South Chicago celebrating with fans at the bars and probably having some breakfast. Police finally broke up the drunken revellers (not sure why idiots do these trashy things but then again there are many MeeSoo's and Chalupas in this world that haven't learned yet). Parade will happen on Friday and it should be a good one. Wow, what a championship brings to a summertime city.......
Lil: The good looking blonde said "I'm going to put a load in the washer before we go to OT" Came back in the room and said "what the hell happened?" She missed the best of the series after watching every other minute.
