    Rankin Research a.k.a boomerang

I keep seeing posts comparing boomerang to
lojack, but I can't find any financial information on
Rankin. I don't care which product may or may not be
better, this is like comparing Coke to Pepsi, but I do
care about debt/equity ratios, cashflow, return on
equity and profit margins. Why is the stock trading at
.06 a share canadian? And what about the spread Bid
    .06 Ask .19 ?
Can anyone back up their views of
Rankin with some numbers that can be verified?

    • What the difference?

      The owner has to
report the car stolen. Police has to then send out a
tracking vehicle to try and find it.
      <<Not with
LoJack-Police have to wait for receiver to beep>>
      If
and when the car is found<<same could be said
for LoJack>>, the police must be
called<<police is called only when needed>>. What if more
than one car is stolen at the same time? How many
      tracking vehicles are there?<<many tracking
vehicles(portable units- fits in any car>> Lojack doesn't
need to send out a vehicle and doesnt need to call the
police to give the cars location. The police are the
trackers. And there are no monthly fees.<<well you
got me they have monthly fees>>

    • 1. Lojack's decline could be for any number of
reasons and the decline may or may not be justified. If
not, and don't tell anyone this, its called a buying
opportunity. Maybe your familiar with the term "buy low, sell
high", its in all the financial press.

      2. I do
own Lojack and I do have faith in the Company. I'm
not the one trying to kill it with
      kindness.

      3. What should I verify? A canadian company with no
presence in the U.S. who is a recent startup with no
operating history. Gee I'm all a quiver. Guess I should
      sell now.

      4. From Boomerangs own press
      release:

The owner has to report the car stolen. Boomerang has
to then send out a tracking vehicle to try and find
it. If and when the car is found, the police must be
called. What if more than one car is stolen at the same
time? How many tracking vehicles are there? Lojack
doesn't need to send out a vehicle and doesnt need to
call the police to give the cars location. The police
are the trackers. And there are no monthly fees.

    • 1. short stock.

      2. get on yahoo and spread
rumors, gossip, and hype the "competition".

      3.
Hope enough idiots listen to you and sell.

      Why
do you constantly try to ditch this company by
hyping its competitor. Why don't you try to be critical
from a financial standpoint. Reason: you cant.

    • "Either your short Lojack or have some other
hidden agenda to try and make this stock go
      down."

SMG-you think that I and I alone on this lonely LoJack
      thread
could possibly be the reason for Lojn recent
decline. You should have more faith in your investment.
      And
I'm not a promotional agent for Boomerang.
      What I
am doing is telling you of possible competition in
      the near future-IMO
Do what you want with the
info-cause that's all it is info, for you and other posters
      to verify.

You ask why would it be a priority
      with boomerang-cause that's what they're paid for,to
      find your car.
      Also you state"Cell phone technology
      is not reliable"
      You don't know how system
      works,I suggest calling the company
      they'll explain
      how it works.

    • lojack must b wanted because the city or police
department has to buy the service before it is available.
      plus for lojack

      boomerang does not require the
muni to invest any money. plus

      boomerang great
      for sparcely populated areas.

      lojack better in
densely populated areas where the thief can hide the car.
      i believe both will work.

      now stop the
bickering. invest in the one you like.

      aecti, tired
      of the same old argument

    • 1. If finding a car is not a priority to police
with lojack, why would it be a priority with boomerang
where they have to recieve the tracking information
      second hand?

      2. Lojack has 0 fees.

      3.
Cell phone technology is not reliable. Many cell phone
companies will not transmit emergency calls of
non-customers. I know, its happened to me and other people I
      know.

If your not the promotional agent for boomerang, why
all the posts on this board and others. Either your
short Lojack or have some other hidden agenda to try
and make this stock go down.

    • 1.You do have a tracking vehicle the police
cruiser, and yes they may be on duty 24hrs,but stolen car is
      not a priority.

      2.Monthly fee is about
$5-6cdn@ month and your car is priority, insurance company
give 30% reduction on a policy.

      3.How often is
your cellular not working, due to towers being out of
service.Today you have cellular service almost everywhere
      In
the future it will be everywhere, can you say the same
      for LoJack.

    • 1. No separate tracking vehicle needed. Lojack's
tracking vehicles (police cruisers) are on duty 24 hours a
      day.

      2. No monthly fees. If I stop paying the fee, my
      vehicle is not protected.

      3. No worries about cell
phone towers being out of service ,or worse yet not in
      your area.

    • Besides the fact that their system has also been around since mid 80s
its more reason to follow up on possible competition.
      Has anyone done that,NO
