At the risk of giving retiredscienceteacher more ammunition...I'm very curious to know why there has been no PR on SRN's site since June of 2012? I'm under the impression that the manufacturing facility in France is supposed to come online in 3-4 months, and if so, why isn't there more buzz? It's very strange and a bit concerning.
There's a difference between commerically available and available at retail.
Also note that the timeline to launch a new product is quite involved with an overlapping timeline. Point is that sales of Algalin have already started to happen because product samples have already made their way to the R&D kitchens of the top food conglomerates who are taking orders.
Launching a New Food Product: Product Development, Sampling, Trials, Approvals, Ingredient Purchasing (Algalin Sales), Production, Marketing, Product Launch
SRS Sales? Yes.
Can you buy it? No (well except Phood ;)
If you go on the SRN website and click on facts "where can i find Almagine" It states it is expected to be available to food manufactures in US and Europe by early 2012. Were there delays or interest is not there yet?
This post is more so directed to Poodle.
"There's a difference between commerically available and available at retail."
I agree Green,.... but samples making their way to R&D are not sales and orders,...... which would be reflected in earnings..... that's what I'm looking for.
F*&ng Yahoo has error messages when ya try to answer specific people...
Poker: If the stuff was available in 2012 it would have showed up in the bottom line as sales.
Do you see any sales? I don't know if there are delays, but i know we don't have any money from sales at SRN

Terrible vol, but the charts are holding in a red tape.

Thoughts? I think we are gonna hear something soon!
@poker - You are truly unbelievable! Especially after the comments from everyone over the last few days.....
Confirmation of any stocks direction (up or down) ONLY COMES WITH LARGE VOLUME.
That you could think that "today is confirmation" shows you know nothing about technical trading and should stop opening your mouth and proving that.
The smartest guy in the room is always relative.
There are buyers and sellers on every trade.
@ $8.26 someone sold, someone bought. Who's the smartest guy in the room? Tell you later.
Last year we were @ $16, the guy selling was the smarter guy, the guy buying @ $16 was not so smart.
@ $6.72 I was buying but haven't sold yet so can't say I'm smart yet.
So to answer your question, it's relative when the stock moves like Solazyme has.
As for the future. No one know. although the market price is $8.26. That I can tell you. If you believe it'll be higher, buy here (or hold here). We are always at a price where buyers and sellers find equilibrium - the market price. At this point in time, right here here is no one smarter than the other. It's the present moment.
Okay since I began writing this we are at $8.29, now you know who's smarter (if only he was sell to his $8.26 shares RIGHT NOW).
I'm touching on the absurd but I hope you see my point. Buy what you want at the price you want and keep an eye on it. If you maintain belief in the trade, then stick to your convictions. Don't worry about the other guy being smarter. Many smart traders have been wrong.
You make many good points Green, i guess since im done with my purchases i would hope that investors gave the company the benefit of the doubt instead of the negative risked filled scenario we have right now in the stock. The strange thing is the negativity is not coming from the analyst community which often happens when a stock is beaten down, thats another disconnect. Sure they lowered est, but are still very bullish with the longer term and near term price targets.
@oxps_rules who said, "I'm under the impression that the manufacturing facility in France is supposed to come online in 3-4 months, and if so, why isn't there more buzz?"
Call Investor Relations if you're so curious.
Hey Green you laid out to me what the shorts are banking on with speed bumps and delays being the big risk, but what about from the long side? Are we the smartest guys in the room willing to discount risk because we feel its not really there? They have proven scale, raised enough cash and have the JVs/customers so when will the momentum come into the stock?
