Beat by a mile!
Look at their history. They ALWAYS beat. So do most stocks. Anal-ysts wouldn't be able to keep their jobs if they didn't lowball estimates. "Beat" is "Normal" and "Expected".
oh come on they did not lowball the estimatesbased on what the company told us on march 28, we were expecting a 1.16 eps as they said it was on the "high end" of 1.14-1.16I doubt that the analysts are lowballing it but more that the companies are lowballing the figuresthe analysts do not have that much more information than uswith that said I'm expecting a 6% gain if the market in general does well and a 2% gain if the market is the red (unlikely)BTW Dow has a 81.0 percent chance of being bullish tomorrowNASDAQ a 71.4 percent chanceDow has been up 10 of the last 12 (1999-2012) the two down days include 2002 and 2008 (market recession)I have a feeling this will run up slowly tomorrow mark this post
Very solid beat on all fronts... top line... bottom line... and with raised guidance. I think some of the beat was priced in, but I think a 5% jump is possible tomorrow.
$1.23 versus $1.16 estimates.
