China Power Equipment, Inc. Message Board

  • helpme_hanna helpme_hanna Mar 31, 2010 1:18 AM Flag

    Could this be true?:

    >>As of March 29, 2010, there were 14,908,313 shares of our common stock issued and outstanding, and there were approximately 50 HOLDERS OF RECORD [my emphasis] of our outstanding shares of common stock.<<

    50 total shareholders?

The CEO holds about 19%. That leaves about 12 million shares held by about 49 people, or about 244,000 shares on average per shareholder, apart from the CEO. Since presumably quite a few of the 49 (such as myself and those reading this on this message board) own a lot less than 244,000 shares, there must be some other shareholders with huge stakes.

This is a VERY tightly held company. Could be good and could be not so good--certainly could result in lots of volatility.

    • I would think that the shareholders of record refers to the Preferred shares? I have over 15,000 and I would think that there are many other common holders.

      • Well, there might be considerably more than 50 shareholders, I really don't know. At any rate, this is a tiny company:

        >>The table below presents the number of our employees on December 31, 2009.

        Administration: 23

        Manufacturing: 30

        Research and Development: 5

        Sales & Support: 4<<

The company will have to spend a lot of money to bring the employment up to levels that can handle large scale operations. The above listed employment is fit only for start-up, concept levels.

I don't look for much in the way of earnings for several years. The expenses, I believe, will be very high during the ramp up period.

    • Don't know much about the number of shareholders, but that number seems inaccurate. If I recall, the is the number I saw like 9 months ago. I read it somewhere. But I can tell you that volatility is huge. For example, last year I bought it at 1.15 and a week later it was 1.8, then fell back to 1.15 another week. It did that a few times within a few months. It went from low 2 to high 2 and back down, for another example. It hasn't been as volatile during the last month. But it was 3.10 only a month or so ago
