    Recent selling

The good/bad news about funds owning large shares of a thinly traded stock like Armanino is "year end selling" to make their portfolio look good - my guess is some funds saw a nice run-up this year and decided to take the money and run. For those of us who have been here for over 10 years, this should not be a worry, as we all tend to invest in the company not the quick buck.

I think just the opposite, funds sell the losers so they do not appear in their portfolio. They like to keep and show stocks that have doubled. In addition, many funds try and minimize cap gains for their holders so selling a big winner would be counter-productive.

      • or it could be something where they want to show that their funds are holding bigger, well known companies that don't appear to be risky, vs holding a 2 dollar OTC stock. Even though it shouldn't matter, it might to some people.

Or maybe someone is just selling to put their money elsewhere. it hasn't been insane volume from what i could tell so i doubt its deep pocket funds, unless they are smartly spreading the trades out.
