    Another successful launch

with Orbital's sat functioning as expected. It is fun to dream about what the price of this stock, given this kind of steady success, would be in a good market. I am guessing twice the current price.

    • Tom, call me Chicken Little but I take pause over the recent satellite collision. (What if the Russians nudged their "dead" sat into the path of our Iridium sat?) How can we protect satellites from all the space crap whizzing around the planet (even if there are no agressive acts)? Who bears the financial risk? I assume the owners have some sort of insurance (Buffett?). Is there an agency responsible for tracking the crap? Could this have an impact (pro or con) on ORB? Less human astronauts and more robotic sats? Just sayin ...

      • If these type collisions begin to increase, the sky will begin to fall but I see your point Mr. Little ;-) There is so much junk up there right now, much of it no longer functional that these things will happen (perhaps as orbits decay slowly) but I am not sure how easy it is to do it intentionally. Even this new sat of ORB's is 5000 pounds. I would think the company producing the sat would have to have insurance as to its proper functioning, the launch company for the launch and after that I would think the company that purchased the sat would be responsible if the first two parties did their job properly. It has been difficult to hold stocks through this period and you were wise to sell your ORB and wait for a better price which I hope you got around this level.

Are you eagerly awaiting some spring warmth back there? I know I am here in WA. State where the weather has been stranger than normal the past couple of years. BTW, did I see your name on the DUK board? Seems like that would be a pretty decent dividend play about now.

        Tom

    • Likely so.
