The thing that would concern me is that much of the market move has been based on expectations of a large Republican victory especially in the House. I am worried that we will have another two years of nothing getting done regarding jobs, the deficit, trade issues, illegal immigration because the Republicans, in Mitch McConnell's words (on the Rush Limbaugh show) are more focused on making President Obama a one term president than they are on dealing with the very same issues they claim the Democrats have failed to control. A surprising win of the Senate might sway me to believe otherwise especially if legislation can be enacted that will not force a veto from the President but the past twenty years of political backstabbing in this country leaves me cynical and depressed. I can remember when the two political parties would argue like the dickens on the floor and then go out, drink a few beers and play softball. No more, and I understand that the powers controlling the parties have told their members to not even think of such a harmonious gathering.
