D.R. Horton Says 4Q Sales Leap 33 Percent Tuesday October 11, 9:01 am ET D.R. Horton Fourth-Quarter Home Sales Jump 33 Percent; Unit Volume Rises 26 Percent
FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) -- D.R. Horton Inc., the nation's biggest homebuilder, said Tuesday that its home sales grew 33 percent for the fourth quarter ended Sept. 30. Net sales orders totaled $3.8 billion, compared with $2.8 billion the year before. Unit volume was 13,950 homes, up 26 percent from 11,105 last year.
In fiscal 2005, net sales orders expanded 28 percent to $14.6 billion, with volume rising 18 percent to 53,232 homes from 45,263 a year ago.
"We are extremely pleased that all of our regions recorded double-digit increases in both sales dollars and units for the quarter," said Chairman Donald R. Horton.
Shares of D.R. Horton climbed on the news, jumping $1.18, or 3.7 percent, to $33.00 in premarket activity.
