Earnings beat estimates. They took a 13 cent charge for future loan repurchase and 8 cent charge for future senior note repurchase. Then took a 2 cent tax benefit. So you have to add 19 cents to their reported 15 cent profit to give them a 34 cent gain that beat analyst estimates. All other results exceeded expectations as well, this premarket reaction was a knee jerk reaction to the initial report without reading the whole thing.
Now that I am on the West Coast, looks like I will have to set the alarm for 5 am.
The great thing is earnings will improve on quarters to come. We have not even seen the "building season" yet as snow and cold weather has been keeping construction down in many areas. I have been fighting snow for over a month and tomorrow I am getting my roof stocked. By this weekend I will have a roof and we will probably not have another flake of snow for the rest of the year! So let the building season start.
