    KORS-San Francisco

I took the wife to San Francisco yesterday for a day of sightseeing, shopping, and dining. Of course, we shopped at the Michael Kors store and she got shoes and pants, and I bought two shirts and a watch. We got out of there for less than a grand, which is not bad. I am convinced their men's line will do well. The salesperson told me that all employees must wear Michael Kors clothes when working at a store. Their customer service is first class. The best of any store I have ever shopped. They did tell me things slowed a bit after Christmas but picked up again lately.

We went to Scoma's for dinner, and walked along the Embarcadero only to see the industrial art on the Bay Bridge. It was pretty intense for a bridge light show. Anyway...KORS is a buy...

    • Interesting story.. Love Scoma on Fisherman's Wharf.. Classic restaurant. Here in the northern suburbs of Chicago on a beautiful, sunny Sunday past, I was with my daughter at the Westfield Mall and saw the beautiful Michael Kors store a couple of time as we walked the mall.... Nobody in the store... the first time.. about 5 female sales associates standing around... second pass bye 2 people leaving the store with no bags in hand...

I wondered... Hmmm they are burning a lot of rent and salaries for a store to be empty on a sunny Sunday with the parking lot packed to capacity..

      Just an anecdote and true...

    • I envy you and your bride for your sfo evening, I lived in Lafayette for 15 years and had the opportunity to hop on bart and spend the day and evenings on Market Street and Union Square. I had to move to Florida several years ago to deal with some personal issues and really miss the bay area. I recently read some feedback from Kors shoppers and the quality of service they shared exceeded customer service that one could ever expect from a retailer. I spent a good deal of time at Norstroms on market street and I thought they were outstanding, but the experiences I am finding from Kors customers exceeds everything I have ever known and look forward to my trip to New York to check out their store. Kors is a hidden gem and I feel good about owning their stock.

    • Sounds like you had a nice night out on the town with your bride!
Did the staff at the MK store offer you & your wife champaigne while you were waiting or being served? They usually do that alot while sizing watches.

      • I do not drink champagne but my wife certainly did. We were in the store for nearly an hour, and I came away impressed by a few things (not just the champagne).

        1. The stores are clean and well light. They are bright with the lights highlighting their beautiful bags and merchandise.

        2. The customer service is the best. The women who helped me was gorgeous, and patient. She helped select the shirts I purchased, and I was being a bit picky.

        3. There is not much clutter in their stores. Whoever designed their store knows a thing or two about retail.

It looks like tomorrow may bring us the long awaited correction?
