Marketsmith IBD's premium charting tool should be up to date shows that as of March 2013 institutional ownership increased from 538 in December 2012 to 580 in March 2013. Last year in March 2012 Marketsmith shows there were only 323 funds holding so that is a nice increase in institutional holdings. However considering the cost of being a member of Marketsmith being so expensive you would expect there data to be correct and they say of the 200 million share float that management still owns 36%. If you look at Yahoo finance data it looks as major management owns approximately 30 million shares and institutional sponsorship is at 330 funds which is clearly wrong??
It seems unclear to what the accurate data is as I believe Marketsmith to be of higher quality data then Yahoo finance but can management really still have 72 million shares. That number would be downright scary. I hope the management number is closer to 30 million which is still to high a number for my comfort zone and that number is provided on Yahoo finance and Yahoo isn't even close on the number of funds they say owns KORS. The only thing that at this point and for the moment that can make buy side board members pleased is we are clearly in an uptrend.
Its outdated not reflecting last SPO...its wrong...institutions update should be much higher now based on the monthly chart showing 2 months accumulation...public report doesn't happen til Jun. I believe they hold several millillon I know mr Kors still has 3 million
