Use of the Money - Acquisitions?

Why raise money when under their current model of doing business their cash runs 4-5 years in the future even if Mipo, the TTR drug, and the OGXI drug fail? The speculation is that Isis is going to take the Phase II drugs into and through Phase III themselves. But even this amount isn't necessarily enough to do robust Phase III's for the factor XI and CRP drugs, and taking APOCIII through Phase III in narrow populations will likely cost less than $100m. I look for them to partner Factor XI and CRP if successful Phase II results, and keep APOCIII in house. With the money left over, look for acquisitions. Potential targets include Marina (wouldn't cost very much), Tekmira (recent paper published where Isis is working with SNALP delivery), and Santaris (involved in a patent squabble; maybe this bolsters Isis' patent estate).
