    One Doctor's Reply to Barron's

    This from Seeking Alpha:

I have been long Isis for many years, up, down, and now up.

What keeps me in is belief that the antisense platform works, and that therefore, if we live long enough, we should see Isis become a major drug company, and make lots of money.

Kynamro's financial success,or failure while perhaps important in the short run, means little in the long run, or on the 5 year time horizon.

Isis might well have gotten ahead of itself, but the evidence that anti sense works has only strengthened. Barron's article slips in a thought that there might be side effects with antisense, but doesn't elaborate. The key to side effects on all drugs is whether you can deliver high doses of the drug to the cells that need it, while not messing up cells that don't need it.

No reason to think that antisense would be worse than conventional drugs in this respect, and some reason to think that anti sense might be better.
