Most likely scenario is the same institutions that own this stock...are short this stock as well. They pull the price down....cover their shorts on the way down...then buy in at the bottom. Company wins, they have more cash, the big funds win, because they are making money both ways...and the dumb retail lose.
I agree with you completely, the big fund managers pump up the stocks and when the retail investors
join in, that's when they pull out and drag the prices down and retail investors are left holding the bag
for a loss and that's what happened all the time.
We always say we are going to play their game but we small investors always lose unless we invest for
the long term.
Small investors will not win the sprint with the big guns of hedges and fund managers but will win in the marathon if we play for the long term.
