First, buying land is not something XIN has to issue a press release. Second, XIN beated out Vanke (the top dog in China and in the world as a matter of fact) to win in land auction. The settlement will take 3 - 5 business days in China. Given there is 9 national holiday going on in China now, I don't expect the pruchase to settle until some time next week. Look for PR then. I do expect a formal PR from XIN since it is a $160 million+ land pruchase --- about 3 times of what XIN spend to buy New York city land.
There is likely many reasons but it boils down to there is not a good reason for it. The press release comes before any public disclosure or the lawyers come knocking. I am sure our capable CEO will make that fact clear to everyone, lawyers, PR, and development before end of next quarter.
