As a rising star trader, one thing you'll learn is that others will always be jealous of your success.
I try to decrease that bitterness somewhat by never using net worth as a club. For example, I never specify share amounts or actual dollar values, only percentages -- "I'm selling half that position" or "I've made a 20% profit on that holding," statements like that.
Most can only understand their worth as a human by comparison to others. In the leverage of raising one's self-esteem, if I make the other person feel bad, then I am a better human being. Unfortunately it is much like a crack addiction, the momentary relief fades to the overwhelming desire for another fix. The only true way is live one's life honestly with a good intent.
Longs, shorts, and in-betweeners keep up you good fight but consider the wages of your activities.
