Bring on the Fiscal Cliff
A lot of nonsense is being written about the so called fiscal cliff. Starting in January tax rates are set to go back to the Clinton era. The era where the economy created 22 million jobs. Balanced budget cuts are set to go into effect for the military and for domestic programs. This is the best budget deal our system is capable of. BRING ON THE FISCAL CLIFF!!

Funny. What makes you think it was the high taxes that spurred the economy and not that new fangled invention that changed the world? You know, that internets thing?

The point Turkeybutt is that the higher tax rates did not prevent economic growth. Tax rates have nothing to do with economic growth.

Walt, this is a topic I definitely want to circle back on next week. I'd like to know which programs will get cut and by how much.
I don't know enough about the "fiscal cliff" yet to make an informed decision, but my instincts are that falling off it sounds like a terrific idea. Nothing else has worked in reducing the federal budget deficit.
Maybe it's time for some harsh medicine.

At the very least they should give it a try. If the economy slows too much they can always cut taxes for the middle class.
