to the less fortunate. You have no problem trying to reach into my pocket and give my money away however you keep your money locked up tight. There are "poor" people in your community! Give them one of your burgers! Maybe you wouldn't look like a bowling ball of you did.

Precisely. If they healthy and of a reasonable working age they should be made to work... not beg for welfare. We've stuck our poor in a poor *STATE OF MIND* and that's a very dangerous hole that we've dug ourselves into. Most poor would rather veg out and watch tv all night instead of read and learn new skills. Maybe if they put some effort into their own personal development they wouldn't be poor anymore... but like I said, they're in the "i'll always be poor" state of mind.
BTW, I like your other point slayer about tipping. When I met my wife (she's very cheap) she gasped that I usually tip at least 25% even with bad service. I always told her that they needed the 2 or 3 extra dollars more than I did. I don't mind helping these people out because they're out there working and putting effort into their livelihood. -
Slogans are not answers. Other countries have much lower poverty rates than we do. The idea that poor people are lazy #$%$ is wrong. Most poor people work. The problem is there are far too many low wage jobs. As unions have lost influence wages have not increased for workers nearly as fast as they have for those at the top. And the minimum wage is not nearly high enough. Finally the government has not adopted a full employment policy.

BARE minimum every Welfare recipient should be drug tested on a regular bases. Real drug testing -- not the pee in a cup thing. And once you're busted you can *NEVER* go back on Welfare.

As I stated in my post, the woman used a child and a child was in the car. You expect me to give the #$%$ mother cash because she has a child? Like she is going to use the money for the child. Its a sad situation however there is nothing I can do about. Child protective services will do nothing, why should I? I would be feeding a "habit" and that's it.- 1 Reply to stock_slayer1974
