without an approved permit. Only the Chinese could get away with this. They only applied for a permit on July 22,
and on the earnings call in August, had not received approval, nor did they have a construction company picked, so
what did they do? Import some non-English speaking Chinese to get those walls up? Where is the Williamsburg
Building Dept when all this is going on? On vacation maybe?
Good question on the permit, I was wondering the same. In reply to mike and infn, it looked to me like there were new walls that had gone up by comparing old aerial photographs with the new photos. Also all the old permits are expired.
As I understand it the project was purchased after it was designed and footings / foundations were in progress.
Are the walls really going up, or is it old construction work that has been in place?
Alternately, they could be working from a previously approved permit.
True Infn, the foundation was in, but those pictures are not the same as what there is now. I went to that
brownstone link, and went on to other links afterwards. The pictures now are not the same as what they
were this winter. Also you will see many pallets of concrete blocks. You don't really think those have been
sitting there for 6 years do you? As for the previous permits, those expired and there are no current permits.
