    Pictures of Williamsburg project

I seem to be unable to post a direct link, but their are some current pictures of the development, if you google "brooklyn daily eagle xinyuan real estate project pictures" you should be able to find a couple links to pictures. The pictures are from 5-6 days ago, but they are way closer to current than anything I've seen lately.

    • Dutch designer Piet Boon is designing all of the interiors, finishes and amenities, which will include jacuzzis in the townhomes and penthouses. The architect of record is WASA/Studio A. The developers will also set aside 10,000 square feet for a nonprofit art gallery. The Oosten’s amenities will include an indoor lap pool, fitness center, sauna and steam rooms, children’s play room, and a rooftop terrace with a reflection pool. Construction began recently and is expected to finish by the end of 2015.

    • 421 Kent brochure is magnificent. I do take exceptions to their statement that it is "just one subway stop from Manhattan" as with the garage parking and 6 blocks to said subway, their primary market may not consider the subway. Why don't they tout its accessibility to the ferry, which is in their backyard, too?

    • Shelter From the Storm — and parking tickets.

Future condo owners at the Oosten at 429 Kent Ave. will be thankful someday for the concrete pour that construction crews carried out this week.

They made a ramp for the parking garage that will protect future residents' cars from punishing weather — and diligent traffic enforcement agents.

The garage is part of the 216-unit residential building that XIN Development, the U.S. subsidiary of Beijing-based Xinyuan Real Estate Co., is constructing at the massive two-acre site in the Hasidic section of South Williamsburg.

      • After an initial visit to the Oosten site, Eye on Real Estate returned a few days later to find rebar sprouting on the edges of the ramp where walls will be constructed, and electrical conduits being laid on the inclined ramp as a prelude to the concrete pour.
There was a delay that day in actually pouring the concrete — because 40,000 pounds of gravel, to be used as a subbase underneath the concrete slab, needed to be wetted off-site before being delivered to the Kent Avenue project.
Our photographer colleague Rob Abruzzese took some of these photos. Shawn A. Lawrence, project coordinator at Wonder Works Construction Corp., took the rest.
Lawrence shared an interesting construction fact: Working with concrete is a race against time. It dries fast.
“I've seen it poured and turned around — and they're walking on it,” he said.
