What Barna actually will be doing is perhaps the
most important part of the press release. LP has made
significant progress on matrix switch technology and other
telecom related tech. The PR makes it pretty clear that
those projects, which were manpower poor, will be given
to Barna to push forward. With the experience gained
in working with G, working with the telecoms, and
developing manufacturing processes for the collimators, time
to market for new products is likely to be much
faster than for the collimators. Barna wouldn't come to
be responsible for these things unless he thinks
they can be gotten to market in a timely way and
accepted. Moreover, he wouldn't come unless he thought that
the products would be important. So, this development
ought increase substantially the odds of LP bringing a
matrix switch, for example, to market within the year.
As one pitchman for an online auction company would
say: "That will be big, really big."
    BTW, if you
are long LP, don't let the shorts who show up and
post under aliases or otherwise frighten you into
selling. For most of them there is no investing, only a
game in which they think they can make money by lying
and creating fear. The price of every stock goes up
and down. The market has its own rhythms. Pay
attention to the facts and draw your own conclusions about
LP's future. Don't let some hoodlehead panic you into
    selling. Happy New Year.
