    UPS' days are numbered

    UPS is in trouble.

The analysts are fooled for now, but here are some things folks on the outside do not know:
Package Flow Technology - does not work and UPS knows it. They have the analysts fooled by giving them "staged" demonstrations, but in reality the system is too complicated for the operators to maintain. UPS continues telling analysts, "we continue to invest in our package flow tech." - when in reality they are feverishly trying to make it work properly before the analysts find out it is a big failure. In the Georgia district - almost all operations using PFT are on the bottom of the rankings for productivity.

UPS treats its hourly and management employees terribly. EVERYONE works long hours. Management's daily philosophy is to "load-em up" referring to the drivers. Drivers are sent out with too much work on a daily basis and then are disciplined for staying out too long and causing late air. Management employees are leaving UPS in droves. A typical work day is 12 to 14 hours - if you try to work less you are sharply criticized. All of the talented management people are leaving for better jobs with fewer hours and comparable pay. The ones who are NOT leaving generally have no skills and are just waiting for retirement.

UPS does not believe in laying off or firing employees. The result is a LOT of dead wood floating around the company. There is an abundance of people earning $100,000+ per year who make NO contribution to the bottom line at UPS and the company does nothing about it. Those who can perform, get more work. Those who can not perform are given no responsibility and are not expected to do anything.

Management pay increases are based solely on how long you have been with the company and where you are in your pay grade. You can be a star performer, but if you are at the top of your pay grade - you get a very small increase. To the contrary - you can be a terrible employee - but if you are near the bottom of your pay grade - you will get a good increase. Compensation is in no way tied to employee performance.

    More to come...

    • loyalups..I am at work. I'm earning 8 1/2% of every dollar you take in. HaHaHaHha and TY TY TY TY

    • loyalups...exactly what mountain are you from? I, and everyone else, was aware you're an inbred and a moron, just didn't know you're from brokeback mountain.

    • loyalups..Certainly YOU deserve a commit. A commit to the closest facility for the criminaly insane is in your future after your bogus suite is exposed and denied.

WARNING: keep all sharp objects away from loyalups. He'll be on suicide watch.

    • the town i run is 35 miles from our center and its the same for fedex

    • well thanks for the compliment and i also guess that the same could be said for yourself. even though i am the one who is correct most of the time.LOL

    • Yes, even though we are sometimes at odds, I do respect you as a hard working man who says what he thinks.

    • damn loyal was that a compliment there?

    • >>I said it was for residentials..I del them all the time-- only thing is there is no committ to residential 2days ams,<<

Now, you are changing your story, you in no uncertain terms claimed that there was a noon commitment on resi's - now you say that there is no commitment but that you do deliver them regularly. Are you trying to say that these are errors, that they are being sent as commercial but the addresses are not really commercial. My manifesting system (iship) will not allow me to process a residential shipment as 2 day AM.

      >>I bet its another way the UPS stores just ripe off unsupecting customers, telling them it will be there by 10:30 on the 2nd day .<<

Do you know for a fact that these 2 day ams to residential addresses are in fact being sent by UPS Stores on their accounts?
Or are they being sent by other entities??

      >>I know you do it all the time.<<

how do you know that loyalups does it all the time? has he said this, do you have inside information to back this up, or are you just blowing in the wind again?

      >>I know of a store in Maineville Ohio that was charging customers for 1 day and 2 day services to area that would make it in 1 day ground, after customer left ,he would change it to ground and pocket the money and he is the store owner.<<

How do you know this, did you talk to him about it. How could he do this without getting caught. Next day Service to most areas is morning delivery. Ground can be anytime in the day. Wouldn't anyone on the other end notice the ground label? It does not take a rocket scientist to figure it out.

      >> also seen same owner charged customer over 200.00 dollars for an international package that should have only cost less than half..that is honesty at work..pure MBX owner at his best........... <<

HOw did you determine that the package should have cost less than half?
What is the Retail Rate, What is the UPS Counter Rate. Don't compare retail to a daily pickup rate less discounts, you didn't do that did you?

Maybe it should have cost half as much, maybe UPS is charging too much. Many times, I find that Fedex International is much cheaper than UPS, but if the owner is charging the UPS retail rate, who are you to criticize that?
