Perhaps simple logic explains share price

Yes, UPS missed by significant amounts on both EPS and revenues. Usually, a $.10 miss would prove disastrous for the share price. Apparently though, the market has recognized that the weather did indeed suck and might even be categorized as a type of one-time event. Every transport company has suffered. Usually when a company guides to the lower end of expectations, it's another recipe for share price destruction. Again, that has not happened here. It could simply be as basic as investors looking at the historical P/E and applying that # to projected earnings. $5.15 or so with a P/E at 20 would bring us to $103. International actually did OK while domestic volume/margins hurt us. So an uptick in our U.S. economy would make a large difference in improving profitability. That's my only explanation as when I first saw the headline number I expected we'd be in the mid-$90's today. Strange stuff. BTW, right now analysts project 2015 EPS to be $5.92. That would indicate a much improving economy. They expect FDX to report $8.86- a remarkable 32.6% increase over this year. Strange, strange stuff....
