The other Australian-US utility buyout, MacQ-DQE, is going to full review...another delay. I suspect Montana is fully aware of the DQE buyout, and will copycat Pennsylvania given the politicized atmosphere in Montana. So settle in. I don't see anything that ought to derail this, but when politicians are involved, you never know what deals are happening in the smoke filled rooms. I still think the NWEC's buyout gets approved, but with conditions.
Well, three attorneys have applied to the Commission for out of state travel approval. If they're going to Pennsylvania... But I don't know yet where they're trying to go, or for what purpose. Just seemed odd that this would come up. What's it take 3 for? Sounds like some serious digging into something.
It would appear that the arbs are expecting this deal to take a bit longer than was first expected too. Having said that buyers seem willing to step up at the $35 level to add shares. I must agree .. there might be conditions, but in this merger happy market the deals seem to keep getting done.
