Well, actually no, they ALL aren't very positive, even when they have to present bad news in the most favorable light. But I don't listen to the mgt. so they can reassure me, but rather to inform me. And maybe it's just me but the ease by which they respond, and the detail and reasoning provided also is quite instructive. I listened to the conf. call and left very favorably impressed by the willingness to explain what might have been seen as rather elementary questions, such as availability of skilled workers, mgt. relationships with the miner unions, their efforts to train new workers (hopefully creating employee loyalty), empathize on mine safety, above average compensation (hopefully reducing turn over) the minimizing of security concerns (to which I agree), and internal funding of future capital improvements.
I owned AuRico while swing trading after it was over-sold and thereby became somewhat aware of the problems at El Cubo, and it was encouraging to hear that our present mgt. seems to have identified the same weakness in the previous operation I saw and is activly addressing them with remedial programs. The mine was poorly run by AuRico - and that ain't news, but to hear Endeavour's mgt. spotlight efforts to correct it's problems is very encouraging.
I swing TRADE gold stocks opportunistically, but I BUY into solid mines and good operators, and fully intend to double my position in EXK after the recent news and conf. call today.
Overall tone was extremely positive. Great strides at El Cubo. Cash costs coming down. Currently profitable, but still a bit of a drag. I'm going to relisten to the replay this afternoon and will try and recap if no one else does.
