Richard Russell, 85 year old author of the "Dow Theory Letters", has become somewhat of a gold bug. At least he now recommends maintaining a healthy percentage of one's portfolio invested in PM's. He also is very bearish on the U.S. dollar. For the last month or 2, he keeps warning that if the dollar falls below 78 (and remains there for a couple of days), then that will be a very negative technical breach which should drive the dollar much lower.
Russell has peaked my interest in following the dollar as there is typically an inverse relationship between PM prices and the value of the dollar. At this moment in time, the dollar has fallen once again and trades on the world currency market at 79.99 (down .34).
"has become somewhat of a goldbug?" Richard Russell has been advocate of owning gold since approximately 2000. I'm glad you just learned about the dollar's historical relationship to gold. You strike me as a good, caring man who could lose a lot of money. happy new year
