Best settlement yet relative to infringers subject revenues
It's another W whether you like the dollar amount or not. Velti settled for $200k plus a cross license isn't that bad considering the cross license also has substantial value. Total value of the settlement is probably closer to $2 million. There were never much damages in this case. Velti doesn't even do $10 million annually in the US and the suit only covered US revenues, not their international ones.
Unfortunately, or fortunately for those who are still taking advantage, the sector is out o favor for now. This will change overnight one of these days. I am still filling up on Velti as it settles down in the $1.70-80s. Talk about a beat down on that one!
If they were able to get a $200,000 licensing agreement from 1000 plus infringers, via a NPE, I believe that comes to 200 million dollars. we would be entitled to half of that. if we are off by 50 percent, meaning half do settle, it's still 50 million.. Bottom line, there is substantial money out there that can be extracted from the patents. by the time this happens, Yahoo could be settling for a substantial amount ( LIKE THEY WERE GOING TO DO SOME TIME AGO) and HC probably will be at LEAST a 60 million dollar run rate.. If you felt like you wasted the last 2 years in this stock while the DOW has been moving higher, do what Jason and Siri did; load up down here and take a patience pill.. it will more than make up for your original investment..
and if you had bought on the pumps at say three bucs or maybe 2 bucs or even 1 buc and your out of money then what do you do billy?not everyone here is claiming to be the rich guy that can just keep throwing money into the stock. what do you say to them?
