A couple decent SA articles on the mobile marketing/advertising arena. "Millennial Media - Mobile Advertising Growth And Concerns" and "Mobile Marketing And Advertising: Explosive Growth And The Companies Driving It." Reasonably balanced.

But, what I really wanted to say is... what the heck is going!?! Not the price action, that is par for the course for the last year. I mean the news cycle. I've been checking the Augme and Hipcricket press release pages, Facebook pages, etc... For the last year or so, there has been some sort of news, press release, or post of some sorts at least every week or so... maybe stretching to 10 days at a point here or there. We're now at two full weeks since the last PR... and that was just the Bundt cake news.

I know we recently hired a new PR firm and they seemed to have an aggressive posture on release / disclosure... just doesn't add up. I suppose options are: 1) just not much to say recently and they are tired of getting dropped in the market news or not, 2) bad news... losing business?, 3) in the middle of merger negotiations w/ Yahoo?, 4) etc...

Millennial is making updates, Velti not so much. Would expect more PR waves in light of the recent market turbulence, sector rotation, emphasis shift to publishers...

I'm very, very, heavily weighted to Augme... so I'm trying to think positive...

    • Worst, sorry to hear your concern and we all feel for you. Listen, I am almost surely certain why Augt has not divulge more news in recent days. I believe mgm't has continued the same course as was before IB took the helm. They will take control what goes out to the press and will make sure that only good things go out. It's almost like a KGB or Putin run organization. We only end up hearing the bad news after the facts are made not before, why is that? Then good news like this Bundt cake scenario goes out the wire first thing in the morning. I am almost certain there are tons of negatives going on behind close doors that none of us are being made aware of. Hence, investor apprehension are at their all time high and PPS at their all time lows? Just put them together and you will find what you need to know. GL.

      • What?

Yes, I am frustrated... but, I don't share your take on it whatsoever.

Augme/Hipcricket has had for some time a massive perception problem. We've gone ad nauseam about it in the threads here for years... That being said, I think things are different now though with the Hipcricket and Ivan taking the reigns. The Street doesn't believe it... and not sure I blame them given our past troubles. Nevertheless, there is a good story here... an unbelievably undervalued story.

I think as we get these remnant lawsuits cleaned-up, get some professional PR help, and hit BE... the AUGT story will begin to re-write itself. It's been a painful road and we've had tremendous disappointments in cash management, litigation handling, etc... but, the company is still alive and is on the precipice of something good. The rocket ship left w/ the Yahoo! ruling, but the good news (for new investors) is that the market has punished the stock unbelievably badly.

Yes, I remember when Arn and others said similar things in the past. And, I largely agreed with them. We were wrong. Could we be wrong again? Possibly. Do I believe we will be? Obviously not, or otherwise I would have sold and moved on.

You have to ask yourself why do people use this board. It sill makes little sense for a non-stock holder to spend their time on this board just to bemoan the pitiful performance of a company they have no interest.

To you - new investors - out there. Take time, do your due diligence and consider the risk/reward outlook on your own. Hipcricket is well-postured (vs catch-up at MM & VELT). My personal opinion is that you have a rare opportunity - I so wish I could go all-in now vs a year ago.

Ultimately, unless there is a fundamental and irrevocable change in the way technology is used to bring advertising / marketing to mobile platforms... there is no choice but for valuation to go (way) up (aside from negligent/criminal mismanagement... which I don't see happening).

        Good luck.
