    Dividend Taxes

The Obama Administration wants to raise taxes on dividends from 15% to 20%. The Republicans want to keep them at 15%.

If an agreement can't be reached by Jan 1, they automatically go up to more than double the 15% rate with the expiration of the Bush Tax Cuts.

What will this do to the stock price?

The next dividend doesn't get paid until next year, although it goes ex-div in late December. Does this make it subject to the higher tax rate?

This stock might have a rough quarter while Congress and the President dither.
