There should be buying pressue due to all the selling that went on for the last 7 trading days. I would not besurprised if you see the stock go back above $29. I think that some traders will buy half their position tomarrow and then wait for a spo if one happens, this way they protect half their position. good luck to all
Capital gains, even short term ones, are somewhat better than dividends, since capital gains can be offset by capital losses, while dividends can't (at least beyond the $3,000 a year you can take against other income ).
In my own opinion AGNC will open 1.32 lower ( 1.40 less the .08 it picked up AH). Some folks with the dividend now safely in their pocket will sell. A few others will buy at the XD discounted price. Smart money in my opinion will wait to buy until the SPO has been announced. The last SPO was announced the day after XD. Some have been 3 or 4 days later, some a couple weeks. I'm sure the wait will be short so wait for the SPO to establish your position. JMHO
Since the next SPO is yet to be announced, the only thing that will happen as a matter of routine is the share price reduction by the $1.40 dividend amount. You won't see an exact buck-forty due to trades that will cause the price to continue it's slide or begin a recovery.
