Since we're on the long independence day weekend, I thought I would offer up this off topic piece of computer maintenance for your viewing pleasure. Those who run Firefox may want to install the "Better Privacy Add-on" as I have just done. The comments at the bottom of the page explain how to open the options menu. A dialog also opens when you close Firefox.
A couple of days ago, Wired reported on the questionable use of Flash cookies revealed by a UC Berkley study. While non-novice Internet users are generally aware of cookies and their implications, fewer users are aware that Adobe’s popular Flash plugin stores its own cookies separately from normal browser cookies.
I used to like Chips Ahoy but since they got the trans-fats out, they taste like cardboard. Now, we make all our dangerous cookies at home. Wonder if the government has a cookie spy? I know they have a toilet tank spy and light bulb spy and soon an electric meter spy. What's next?
Thanks for the heads-up on NoScript 126.96.36.199 I was having trouble with a script opening on NASDAQ charts when I click 1-year. Then Firefox would get erratic and lockup. I added NASDAQ the the Whitelist, set the options, and now the problem has vanished. Thanks!
