I'm currently with Scottrade, but I'm looking around for an online broker company that charges less on commissions on options and stocks. Also better interest rates on the margin. What's the most popular out there? I'm looking at tradeking , optionshouse those two seem to be the cheapest in fees... Any opinions? Suggestions?
I have used a few of them (Etrade, Scottrade), but have found Fidelity is the best fit for me. I have 401k, Roth, IRA and personal account with them. The comment regarding "most economical" to me is basically you get what you pay for. I have found Fidelity service is outstanding and their fees are in line with competitors. Fees are somewhat based on your account balance.
If you decide to switch to any other broker, you can negotiate x # of trades with out commissions.
