Just for a different perspective or enlightenment search on the phrase below to see a 50 year chart of government spending. Defense spending was about 50% previously and now is down to just over 20% while social programs such as medicare, medicaid, safety net programs (Obama care eventually) were low to nonexistent in the beginning. Social programs now take up over 30% and still climbing while our taxes will need to be increased substantially to cover the social program expenses or costs will need to be lowered or cut. I'm not thrilled with the current crop of politicians as they seem to be more concerned with reelection campaigning then being smart and fixing or balancing our government spending. I am happy to be trying someone new until they show some sort of brains to get this fixed or balanced out and quit running up huge deficient which are causing national security concerns.
