Ahh... a brave soul.... I admire one who puts themselves out there.
Surprised you would say comprehensive of up to 2.00, however I agree. AGNC may have a lot of cr@p on the books they may want to dump on the fed. They'lll have to replace with lower yielding investments or maybe a NLY style buyback?
Q2 showed a EPS loss of -.88. Dare to venture a guess at EPS and Book? (darts acceptable).
bovisutor, I'm assuming on comprehensive there will be another big unrealized gain on their MBS.
MBS over the period for AGNCs quarter went up about 1 point or so.
You can look at HTS earning that just came out to.. they had an unrealized gain in their earnings that just came out of 223 million.
AGNC's portfolio is much much bigger than HTS.. so lets expect a much bigger number.
And AGNC had that huge hit on hedging last Q. I think over 1 Billion.
So if the hedging loss/expenses go back to more normal ranges and they get that unrealized gain on the MBS side, they could have a hefty comprehensive.
If I go back to the 2Q 10-K and remove the -1,029M in loss on derivative instruments and recalculate the income statement. Comprehensive income comes to $ 5.00 per common share and and EPS of $2.50 per common share.
The increase over 1Q is due to an increase of 688M of Unrealized gain on securities held available for sale and adding back the hedging loss.
Of course there are all the other metrics, core, spread and leverage but this would look very good on paper.
