New York Mortgage Trust (NASDAQ: NYMT) announced its earnings results on Wednesday. The company reported $0.34 EPS for the quarter, missing the Thomson Reuters consensus estimate of $0.72 by $0.38.
That doesn't make sense. Most estimates I can find for NYMT are .25 which they easily beat.
Not sure where your seeing the expecation was .72 ?
You know that they more then doubled their shares and that will affect earnings and dividend.
Place to is WMC.
I,m a little confused with your earnings miss also. I see Starmine Smart estimate for 26 cents and First Call Concensus looking for 28 cents with NYMT earning 34 cents, what am I missing?
That $0.72 estimate from Thomson came from the Jags report. I agree it doesn't make any sense but it was the only thing I saw that could justify the punishment today.
