    Fiscal Cliff

I ponder those who want to excuse high income people from commensurate taxation because itssupposedly 'chump change' while focusing on and going after, for instance, Public Broadcasting, which is nothing at all.

The same people talk with great sympathy about how hard it is to maintain a luxury lifestyle at $250k/yr while being delusionally envious of the imagined luxurious lifestyles of people who eake out their existence in slums.

When and how did the rich become responsible for lifestyles of people who eke out their existence in slums?

      Sentiment: Hold

      • The rich are not responsible for the 'lifestyles' of people who eke out their existence in slums.

That said, I have trouble understanding what kind of though process would lead a reasonable person to think its a good idea to tax people who have little disposable income living in slums so as to cut atxes on high income people.

It simply makes no sense, on a pratical, ethical or economic level.

It might make since to someone who enviously believes that people who eke out their existence in slums are living pampered lives of idle luxury. i have trouble understanding what kind of person would believe such a think.
