I would probably be a moderate Republican if the party was like it used to be, but it's not. The core of the Repub party is a bunch of whaco's now. So, I'm a moderate Dem 'cause at least they're not crazy yet.

    • White Male, 26 (yep I'm young compared to all off you old folks haha). I am a little more than half way done in a chemistry doctoral program with a focus on solar cells....I've always enjoyed the topic of "clean energy" and "green". No political affiliation in so far....I pretty much abhor politics, the two party system, and all the people who vote solely on character issues instead of political ones (A person being pro life or pro choice should, in my opinion, have no influence on a voters political stance). I picked up investing as a hobby with some saved up funds roughly 2 years ago because I was #$%$ off my bank would only give me 0.01% interest on my savings. Since then I've been taking the learn as I go approach in my spare time. I have learned a lot about investing from my mistakes, successes, and members from this board (investopedia and other sites help too haha). I've done fairly well to date and as I continue to learn the more about TA, option trading, and so on I hope to do better

    • thanks for a message of sanity!!

      Sentiment: Strong Buy

    • I’m a white male, 65, living in Indianapolis, IN. I have an MBA from Purdue University majoring in Marking and Finance. I came from a very humble background. I spent 4 years in the Air Force from 1966 to 1970, as an electronic technician in ground radio maintenance. I was never decorated, but did survived. Spent many years in the scientific instrumentation and computer arena, but in 1985 moved into the business side of things. Started my own computer networking company in 1992 and sold it in 2001. I got married for the first time in 2001 at the age of 53. My wife has 2 adult single boys in their 30's.

I’ve been a Republican and a Democrat, but am an independent and have been for many years. I’m pragmatic and conservative in financial manners, and liberal in social issues. I’ve spent many years volunteering with projects and missions directed toward low-income people and families. I’m a founder of a support group called RESTORE that includes ex-sex offenders--a group that doesn’t get a lot of support, but a lot of negative attention. I’m not “soft” on child abuse or sex offenders, on the contrary, I’m working to prevent child abuse and sex offenses.

    • Korean American Man. 32, single.

Born and raised in Chicago, very poor family (I have memories of crying because I was so hungry and a teacher bringing me milk and a banana)

Tested at gifted level, read the entire world book encyclopedia at age 9. Did a bunch of drugs as a teenager, got locked up for aggravated assault at 18. Denied entry to the military on that basis.

BA History, graduate studies in classical history.

Made it in my mid 20s. Built a personal training gym from scratch and made more money than I knew what to do with.

Saw doctors for 2 years for cancer. Lost everything.

I used to be leftist (democratic socialism), now, I'm more center left.

    • Well, I tried to make a useful thread which was requested in another thread, but I see that some of you have a different agenda. Why are you plugging up my thread with this drivel?

    • so that mean that you are moderately crazy
