Yes, I do understand business. I received that class my first year of my MBA. I am a business owner as well. And when there is an increase in taxes my clients pay the cost of my tax bite, not my business. At the end of every transaction my clients pay for the items plus tax. And when there is an increase and taxes on my return on investment I halt my investments. When I have to pay more for employee health care I lay off or employ part time workers.
The tax that I pay the state and the feds quarterly comes from the sales and profits that I made during that time period. So I tax the buyer of my products in give it to the state than I sale less or hire less people base on the fed tax rate so that I stay out of that tax bracket. So I do not have to pay it. Why, because I refuse to allow the feds to take most of what I've worked to build.
Agree totally with bbkenno. It is sheer fantasy to think otherwise, and you have to stretch to do it. Our country's current thinking is taking us straight to the Greece route....and unbelievably enough citizens think that is a perfect scenerio
