One of the social cost of low interest rates

Low Rates Force Companies to Pour Cash Into Pensions: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/low-rates-force-companies-pour-041100576.html

The same is true for people who are saving for their retirement on their own. Low interest rates make it cheap for people to borrow money, both for individuals and the government, but it makes it near impossible for the person saving for retirement to maintain their net worth relative to inflation. Thus here we have another case were wealth is being transferred from the future to the present. Of course in the future those who support today's policies will refuse look back and take ownership of what they cause then. They will find a way to blame it on the people who had nothing to do with it and because of that they will never learn how to stop doing it in the future because you can't solve a problem that you do not understand. This is a case where people don’t want to understand because they don’t like the realization. What they want is to believe an alternative reality, and that is why we will keep reliving these events over and over. It is kind of depressing when you think about it. Of course none of this matters to the politician whose only goal is to win the next election.

    • raybans another example of sound government action. Headline:. the military is stepping up the war on drugs in Latin America. More money, more killing just to keep drug prices high so the Drug Cartel can make a big profit. If drugs were regulated and taxed the cartels would have to find another business.
