I like I like.
A 22548 share trade at $31.20 just crossed the tape in one $703497.60 trade, I wish it was me buying but it wasn't. I have some bids at lower prices than that, but fills aren't looking likely so I'll wait for an SPO to add shares.
I too was pretty surprised when I saw that big trade in AH. Someone wanted in and someone wanted out. I'm curious as to what your take is on AGNC's numbers. Your thoughts would be appreciated.
BTW, the M2M accounting was pretty brutal on the BV/share, but the lower BV/share lowers AGNC's "bar" for another non-dilutive SPO, should the eventual pps support it. I also thought that AGNC was brilliant to buy shares back for $29.
REITs are such complex animals it's hard to say if there's such a thing as 'meet' or 'beat'.
My expectations were lower than the numbers they reported, but the REIT sector is vastly misunderstood by so many it's hard to make a judgement call here.
I think the question everyone is asking themselves is this: "Will AGNC support the dividend?"
Based on spreads there's a good chance they will. The counter-argument is also valid - there's a fair chance of a cut as well. It could be $1 to $1.15 pretty easily.
Conference call tomorrow morning I believe - I suggest we listen in and reserve any judgement on the quarter until then.
